There are so many conservation challenges in Ecuador that no single foundation can do it all. One of our favorite Ecuadorian foundations is the Fundacion Jocotoco, which focuses on strategic land purchases to save critically endangered birds. One of their projects has made the final cut of five projects worldwide in the European Outdoor Conservation Association’s annual competition for a 30,000e conservation prize. The Fundacion Jocotoco’s project will help to protect Ecuador’s national bird, the Andean Condor, whose Ecuadorian population has been declining rapidly and is now down to fewer than 100 wild birds.

The winner of the conservation prize will be determined by an open vote of the public. So we ask our conservation friends to help this foundation protect the remaining condors in Ecuador. Please vote for it here.

Fundacion Jocotoco, we wish you luck!
